Who I work with

Most people who reach out are doing just fine on paper.

They are holding down the job, showing up for their family, answering the texts. From the outside, nothing looks wrong. Inside it can feel like a low hum of worry that never quite switches off, a bracing for the next thing, or going quiet in exactly the moments that matter most.

If that sounds familiar, it does not mean something is broken in you. More often it means you have been carrying something for a long time without much room to set it down.

I work with adults and couples across California who are navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, major life changes, parenting stress, and the attachment patterns underneath all of it. My aim is not only to ease the symptom, but to help you understand why you respond the way you do, where it came from, and what a different response could look like.

You do not have to be in crisis to deserve support. You just have to be tired of doing it alone.

How it works

What is online therapy?

Online therapy is mental health counseling provided through a secure video platform. California residents can take part in therapy from a private location of their choosing, which makes consistent care possible for people managing work, caregiving, distance, or a schedule that does not accommodate a commute.

In practice, the therapy itself is not a lesser version of meeting in person. The same relationship forms, the same work happens. What changes is the friction around it.

Starting is three steps

  1. A free consultation

About twenty minutes, by video or phone. You describe what has been going on. I tell you honestly whether I am the right fit, and if I am not, I will point you toward someone who is.

  2. The first few sessions

We get oriented together: your history, your relationships, the patterns you have already noticed, and what you want to be different. No pressure to have it all articulated in advance.

  3. The ongoing work

Usually weekly at first. We follow the threads that matter, build skills where skills help, and go underneath the pattern where something older is driving it.

“You are not meant to do this alone. Let's work together to help you rise.”

Take the first step, at whatever pace feels manageable.

Consultations are free, about 20 minutes, and there is no obligation to book after. It is simply a chance to talk through what is going on and see whether working together feels right.

Common questions

Questions people ask before reaching out

Yes. Rise & Rooted Therapy is a fully telehealth practice, and I work with adults and couples located anywhere in California. Sessions happen over a secure, private video platform, so you can meet from home, from a parked car between commitments, or wherever you can close a door.

There is no threshold of suffering you have to reach first. Most people come in because something has been quietly wearing on them: a worry that will not settle, a pattern that keeps repeating, a relationship that feels harder than it should. If you have been wondering about it for a while, that is usually reason enough to have a conversation.

We start with what brought you here and what has been hardest lately. I will ask about your history, your relationships, and the patterns you have noticed. You do not need to arrive with it organized. Much of early therapy is putting words to things that have only been felt.

Yes. I work with individual adults and with couples. Some people come in on their own to understand their part in a relationship pattern; some come as a pair. You can read more about individual therapy and couples therapy.

Sessions are $175. Details on payment, insurance, and out-of-network reimbursement are on the fees & insurance page.
